Find out more information about completing the FAFSA
To be considered for most financial aid options at Ball State, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at
studentaid.gov
. You need to file a new FAFSA
each year
you are in school.
Even if someone may not qualify for federal aid, the information on their FAFSA can help determine their eligibility for other awards, including
need-based Ball State scholarships
.
Some types of assistance are limited, so students should apply
as early as
possible
for maximum consideration. The earlier they file, the sooner they’ll receive their award package.
To ensure priority consideration for all available grants and loans, the federal processor must receive the FAFSA on or before
April 15
. Filing after this deadline may severely limit a student’s eligibility for financial aid.
Four out of every five
Ball State students qualify for some kind of merit- or need-based assistance, including scholarships, grants, low-interest loans, work-study programs, and veterans benefits.
To make a high-quality education more affordable, Ball State University provides
nearly $300 million
in financial aid each year.
