For years, Regions Bank has encouraged students to share stories of inspirational Black Americans through the Riding Forward Scholarship Contest. Applications are now being accepted from students who are looking to build upon their education. Students are invited to submit essays about inspirational Black Americans as the Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest enters its 12th year.
Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2023. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who live in (or who are currently enrolled in accredited colleges in) the 15 states that have Regions Bank full-service branches may apply. And once again, applicants will have the option to submit a video or traditional written essay.
Key Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest Details (Now through March 31, 2023)
- Through March 31, 2023, high school seniors and undergraduate college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are residents of (or who are currently enrolled in accredited colleges located in) the 15 states with Regions branches are encouraged to submit a submit a 500-word or less, Written Essay or a 3-minute or less, Video Essay, honoring a Black American who has been an inspiration in their life.
- 30 scholarships will be awarded for Written Essays (1 High School and 1 College Winner from each of the 15 states) and 30 scholarships will be awarded for Video Essays (1 High School and 1 College Winner from each of the 15 states)
- New Scholarship Levels: $2,500 each for high school winners and $1,750 each for winners, currently enrolled as college students.
