Description:
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the landmark March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech. Indiana has a rich and varied connection to the fight for civil rights in America. The state was home to leading abolitionists and activists. Inspirational heroes emerged, and many especially young people found a way to use their voice for what is right and just—not just through marches and protests but with art, education, sports, and charity. This program will tell these stories geographically, mapping important locations around the state, including some interesting spots in Muncie.
