Join trombone professor Chris Van Hof and guest artist Joseph Alessi for a day of learning and music making. Mr. Alessi is an internationally-renown soloist, principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic, and on faculty at The Juilliard School.

Mr. Alessi will also perform with the Ball State Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20 in Sursa Hall. Learn more about the concert.
8:30 a.m. - Registration opens (Sursa Hall's Mueller Lobby)
8:30 a.m. - Paige’s Music/Shires expo opens
9:00 a.m. - Group warmup and Mass Ensemble reading session
10:00 a.m. - Ball State student/faculty showcase
11:00 a.m. - Joseph Alessi master class
12:30 p.m. - Lunch (and visit Paige’s/Shires expo)
1:30 p.m. - Chris Van Hof master class for high school students
2:30 p.m. - Mass Ensemble rehearsal
3:30 p.m. - Joseph Alessi interview/Q&A session
4:30 p.m. - Paige’s/Shires expo (open until 5:30 p.m.) or free time
5:30 p.m. - Final concert: Joseph Alessi with Cardinal Trombone Choir and Mass Ensemble
Preregistration is requested.
- $20 for individuals
- $15 per person for groups of three or more
*Show your ticket stub from Friday night's band concert and receive $5 off the registration fee.
All payments will take place in person at the registration table.
Parking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. This garage is free on weekends and after 7 p.m. on weekdays.
