A pre-concert talk by Dr. Linda Pohly, professor of music history and musicology, will be given at 7 p.m. in Sursa Hall. A concert ticket is required for entry.

This concert will celebrate Black History Month with works by, for, and about African-Americans in the United States.

The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Thomas Caneva, director of bands, and the Symphony Band is under the direction of Caroline Hand, associate director of bands. This concert will also feature guest conductor Cynthia Johnston Turner and guest composer Omar Thomas.
