Ball State University offers a Master of Arts degree in counseling with a specialty focus in rehabilitation counseling. The program is designed to prepare counselors to become skilled professionals by learning ways to enhance psychosocial functioning, foster independent living skills, and improve employment opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities and chronic health conditions. The program takes a holistic approach to student development and is committed to diversity, advocacy, and social justice. Students gain real world experience with diverse clients, addressing community needs.
The department and program take pride in maintaining a collaborative, supportive, student-focused environment. Faculty mentors work with students to guide them through the program, and support their career goals. We offer campus and online coursework, excellent clinical training experiences, and opportunities for research and professional development.
