The Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology and the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies are pleased to have Dr. Michael Jerryson visit campus to present two workshops for faculty, staff, and students at Ball State. The first workshop, titled “Race and Religion” will be held on September 30th, it will be based on a lecture and involve brief readings by Takaki (Reflections on Racial Patterns in America) and Chin (Attack of the White Buddhists). The second workshop, titled “Religion and Violence” will be held on October 1st, it will be based on a lecture and involve a brief reading by Juergensmeyer from The Encyclopedia of Global Religions. Both workshops will begin with a lecture, then time will be set aside for group reflections about the readings and collective sharing.
