The NOMAS Film Series is a weekly series of movies and documentaries for everyone's entertainment and learning pleasure. As part of our mission with NOMAS (The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students), we are compelled to explore topics of diversity, inclusion, and Social & Environmental Justice. Some of the films may be humorous, others may be heart-wrenching. Regardless, please encourage your friends and colleagues to come and enjoy the NOMAS Film Series.

On Thursday, the NOMAS Film Series will be airing the HBO film, Ice Box starring Óscar Fernandes. The drama is about a 12-year-old boy who must leave his homeland to seek asylum in the United States and then become trapped in the U.S. immigration system. The movie is inspired by Daniel Sawka's years of research, outreach, and personal stories told to him by immigrants. Filmed on location in New Mexico, shot primarily in Spanish with English subtitles.
