Come to the Charles W. Brown Planetarium and learn how Ball State University astronomers and their students use telescopes located at dark sites in Arizona, South America, and the Canary Islands. You will see deep-sky images captured during this live event. Our planetarium projectors will show you where these objects are located in the night sky and how we imagine them to look up close – including the planets orbiting other stars in our galaxy. Events like this are possible because BSU is part of the Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy (SARA). By operating these research instruments through the internet, we can span 7 time zones and even explore the Southern Hemisphere sky. Come see stellar objects in real time and explore the Milky Way with BSU faculty, staff, and students!
