As part of Unity Week 2020, the Office of Inclusive Excellence, Ball State University Libraries, Friends of Bracken Library, the Multicultural Center, and the Office of the Provost invite you to attend a screening of the film A Lot Like You as part of Reel Inclusion: A Film Series. This Unity Week program takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m. in AJ 175. In A Lot Like You, filmmaker Eliaichi Kimaro, a mixed-race, first-generation American of Tanzanian and Korean descent, examines her own racial identity and heritage by exploring her father’s life and upbringing and the culture of the Chagga people. Through this filmmaking process, Kimaro uncovers and examines the ways in which trauma and sexual violence shaped her family history.Runtime: 55 minutesPlease be advised that the film contains graphic descriptions of sexual violence.
