Shirley Brice Heath, linguistic anthropologist, studies learners across the life span in non-formal environments of learning. She earned her M.A. in Linguistics at Ball State University in 1964. Heath has taught at universities throughout the world, most notably Stanford University and Brown University. She will be receive an honorary doctorate at the Fall 2018 Commencement Ceremony.
