In this session, you will learn about college costs and financial aid.

Ball State offers a variety of technical resources to enhance your education and campus experience. You will learn about how to take advantage of discounts available at the Technology Store on campus (Bracken Library, Room 103), and how to get personal computer support and solutions to your technology needs at the Tech Center (Bracken Library, Room 101). Email is the official communication at Ball State, and the University uses many channels to communicate during emergencies. Find out how you can manage emails and sign up for emergency texts.

The health, safety, and well-being of students are top priorities at Ball State. In this session, students and parents will learn about the numerous resources provided to ensure student safety and success. Particular attention will focus on the new student education module, Good Neighbor Policy, Police Services, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, Victim Advocate services, and electronic communication features that are a must-have for our students.

Used books, new books, rentals, e-books: everything you need to know to save the most money on your required course materials and be prepared to succeed in your University career.

In this session, you will meet with a representative from the Office of Academic Advising, receive the Student Advising Handbook, review curriculum requirements, and learn what it takes to graduate.

Learn how to make your residence hall a “home on campus.” Representatives will discuss residence hall living, roommates, and dining on campus.

In these sessions, commuting students will learn about services and opportunities available to help them succeed. Emphasis will be on campus parking, commuter dining options, and the Commuter Ambassador program.

Where can you go to find an on- and off-campus job, explore career options, or get assistance with an internship or job search? Learn how the Career Center will help you connect for career success.

The Learning Center provides free peer tutoring and Supplemental Instruction for courses in science, humanities, math, business, writing, and coaching for general study skills in a relaxed, collaborative learning environment. We also provide test proctoring for students with disabilities. We typically serve over 4,000 students and conduct over 30,000 visits per year.

Student success is our goal and the goal of every student and family at Ball State. This session will explore some of the important transitional issues students and families experience during the first year and the on-campus resources to help your student succeed in their first year and beyond. Learn how to be a skilled and knowledgeable partner for your student’s success.

While college is an exciting time of transition and change, it can also be stressful. This session will address some of the common situations, feelings, and concerns that students and families experience during their first year at Ball State. Learn some ways you can effectively deal with these challenges and help your student succeed in the first year.

The Health Center is funded by a separate fee required each semester of all students who wish to receive services. These videos will review these services and discuss new student compliance with vaccine requirements.

Fraternities and sororities at Ball State offer academic support, leadership development opportunities, community service experiences, and lifelong friendships. This session will explain the benefits of fraternity and sorority membership, the joining process, university support, and commonly asked questions. Learn how to help your student gain valuable skills that will last well beyond their years at Ball State.
