Perform for agents, casting directors, and other industry professionals working in theatre, film, and television in the Chicago area and make the connections you need to start a successful career.

Through an audition process, seniors completing a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) in acting, dance, and musical theatre are selected for the Chicago Showcase by award-winning director and Theatre and Dance instructor, William Osetek.

Osetek comes to campus each spring to work with juniors before returning in the fall to audition and prepare the seniors for the Chicago Showcase.

Through the work of Osetek, faculty, and committed alumni, a number of industry professionals attend the showcases and many seniors field offers and auditions which can lead to the first professional job after graduating from Ball State.

In addition to the showcase, the Department of Theatre and Dance arranges for workshops to be conducted for students who help produce the showcase.

This year’s Chicago Showcase is on December 2 at Victory Gardens Theater. In addition to the performance showcase, this year will feature the department’s inaugural design/technology/management showcase.
