Associate Professor of Telecommunications
Dr. Miao Guo joined the Ball State faculty in 2012. Dr. Guo has taught at a variety of colleges and universities covering subjects in broadcast/cable programming, audience analysis, media economic and management, and electronic media marketing/promotion. Her research interests focus on new emerging media, mobile communications, and audience measurement and analytics. She has produced a number of scholarly publications and numerous conference presentations at the meetings of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), the International Communication Association (ICA), and the Broadcast Education Association (BEA). Her grant research projects are involved with Time Warner Global Media Group and the International Journal on Media Management. She is also one of the recipients of the 2013 AEJMC Emerging Scholars Program Grant and the Junior Faculty Research Competition Award at Ball State. Miao received her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas, as well as a Communication master’s degree from Tsinghua University in China.
