The Department of Sociology works routinely with community partners to assist them with data collection, data analysis, program evaluation, program development, and related tasks. These partnerships are mutually beneficial for partners and for students, and enable the department to contribute to the community. Specifically, they provide students with real-world experience in applied sociology, and assist partners in their efforts to deliver services to their own clientele with greater efficiency and effectiveness. Some of these projects involve teams of undergraduate and graduate students, whereas others involve individual students in an internship capacity.

The department recognizes the value of ongoing collaboration. We are committed to maintaining engagement beyond semester-long projects as dictated by our partners’ needs and available resources.
