Dr. Richard Petts promoted to Professor

Petts's promotion went into effect Fall 2019. Dr. Petts's career at Ball State began in 2008 when he was hired as an Assistant Professor after completing his PhD at The Ohio State University. Read more.

Dr. Richard Petts Publishes on Paternity Leave-Taking

Petts co-authored a research article that finds that fathers seldom take parental leave even when it is available. However, some fathers are more likely to do this than others. Read more.

Dr. Richard Petts gets his first book published in 2022, Father Involvement and Gender Equality in the United States: Contemporary Norms and Barriers

Dr. Richard Petts 2023 Co-organized a symposium titled “The Future of Gender Equality Three Years into the Global Pandemic” in Washington DC that featured new findings from our NSF-funded project. The symposium was hosted by New America (link for additional details + full video recording is here), and key findings presented have been featured in The New York TimesThe Philadelphia Inquirer, and CBS News

Dr. Fang Gong promoted to Professor effective Fall 2023

Dr. Fang Gong and Dr. Jun Xu article accepted in GeoJournal. 

Gong, Xu, and Wenjie Sun co-authored "Individual and Contextual Correlates of Cardiovascular Diseases among Adults in the United State: A Geospatial and Multilevel Analysis."

Dr. Melinda Messineo promoted to Professor

Messineo's promotion went into effect Fall 2018. She arrived at Ball State in 1999, and since then has been active in initiatives across the campus, region, and nation, while amassing several awards. Read more.

Dr. Rachel Kraus publishes methods chapter

Kraus' work focuses on qualitative research methods in the Principles of Research in Behavioral Science. Read more.
