Dr. Kristin Trainor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her B.A. from Butler University and her MSW from Indiana University, South Bend. In January of 2019, Kristin completed her PhD from the Indiana University School of Social Work.
Her dissertation, “Prenatal Substance Misuse: Exploring Healthcare Providers’ Attitudes and Perceptions,” revealed potential stigma among healthcare professionals and enhanced protocol to improve attitudes and decrease stigma among providers. Kristin combines her deep interest in social justice and research with her strong practical experience in a broad range of social work areas including institutional settings and private practice therapy. Additionally, her research interests include: healthcare, substance misuse, food culture, community engagement within a divided society, criminal justice, and technology.
Personally, Kristin is an avid animal lover, enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and culinary arts. Kristin lives in Indianapolis with her husband, two young sons, and a spoiled rescue beagle.
