Adrienne Newman Adrienne Newman, Lecturer of Practice

I joined the faculty in 2016 after practicing for 27 years in Nashville, TN. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and my bachelor’s degree in social work and criminal justice from Ball State University. I am a Licensed Advance Practice Social Worker (LAPSW) in Tennessee. My practice background focused on development, implementation, and evaluation of services for frail older adults, homebound seniors, and their caregivers. Grant writing, strategic planning, community development, leadership, macro social work practice, care management, and gerontology are my specialty areas. I also served as a member and Chair of the Tennessee Board of Social Workers. I also received awards from The Tennessee Conference on Social Welfare, the Greater Nashville Regional Council Area Agency on Aging and Disability, The Tennessean, and The Nashville Business Journal for advocacy, service, and community improvement. In Muncie, I serve on the board of the United Day Care Center and as secretary of the East Central Neighborhood Association.
