Dr. Dane Minnick is an academic who specializes in illegal drug policy, substance use, and social work education.

His research has mainly focused on the provision of substance use training in social work academics and he has also conducted studies looking at the impact of drug policies on social justice and vulnerable communities.

He was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and completed his undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Sciences at Texas Tech University, and his master’s and PhD in Social Work at the University at Albany SUNY.
