Master of Arts in General Science, 30 hours:

Course requirements Hours
Course work in at least three of the following: biology, chemistry, earth/space science (geology and/or astronomy), and physics


SCI 696 Current Issues in Teaching Science or PHYC 691 Advanced General Science


Minors and non-departmental electives as approved by the department


Research Requirement - RES 697 (1-3) Research Paper or THES 698 Thesis (6)  or SCI 699 Research Methodology in Science Ed (3)


Total Hours Required


You may write a research paper (RES 697) or a thesis (THES 698) on a research project in a specific science area or on a science education topic. The research paper earns a total of three hours credit and the thesis earns six hours credit.

Minors are optional but, if taken, must include at least six hours of courses approved by a designated advisor from the minor area and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
