Dr. Rachel Fredericks earned her PhD in philosophy after writing a dissertation about the moral significance of jealousy at the University of Washington in Seattle. Prior to that, she graduated with a BA in philosophy from Reed College in Portland, OR. She joined the Ball State community in 2015, and is teaching Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, and Environmental Ethics in her first year here.

A specialist in ethics, moral psychology, and feminist philosophy, Dr. Fredericks’ is currently writing about moral responsibility for things other than actions, including character traits, attitudes, and emotions. She has published in the journals Environmental Ethics and Ethics, Policy & Environment.
