Linda Sweigart began teaching at BSU in 2004 while completing her post master’s adult nurse practitioner. She teaches in the entry level physical assessment course for baccalaureate students, in the distance RN to BSN and Master’s programs and has taught a variety of other courses at both the baccalaureate and master’s programs.  During her nursing profession she has worked in multiple areas including adult and neonatal ICU, obstetrics, med/surg and open heart recovery. She was Assistant Director in the Nursing Department of a 300+ bed hospital and served as Women & Family Health Educator for Ball Memorial.  She worked with women with Breast Cancer for those 14 years plus as additional 2 as Nurse Liaison in the Mammography Center.  She was selected 2011 Health Information Technology Scholar (HITS) for Ball State University in conjunction with Dr. Hodson Carlton.  This NLN and multiple university program was partially supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and designed to integrate technology into the nursing curriculum and expand the capacity of collegiate schools of nursing to educate students for healthcare delivery in the 21st century.
