Janet Bertram

Nursing Outreach Specialist

Room:HB 326

Janet’s main function is to manage the Center for International Development office. A few of her duties include: managing all travel and reimbursements for CID employees as well as any faculty traveling on CID-related grants, making sure all suppliers and vendors are paid, and managing and signing off on time sheets. She is also the CID hiring manager and maintains the grant notebooks and an office calendar. What Janet enjoys most about working at CID is being involved with on-campus exchange programs which allow her to meet people from all over the world.

Before working for CID, Janet worked in a local high school for 22 years. While working in the high school, her family hosted two foreign exchange students. She became so interested in learning about other cultures and getting to know these young international students that she became a coordinator for a local foreign exchange organization.

When not working, she enjoys decorating, sewing, and crafts. In the summer, she enjoys being outside boating, hiking, biking, and working in the yard. She likes to visit state parks to ride horses and kayak. She and her husband have one son and one grandson that they love to spend time with. They also sponsor a child in Togo through Compassion International and will be sponsoring another child from Nicaragua later this year. Her wish is to sponsor more children and visit them all. She loves being a part of the CID family and feels we are making a difference in the lives that we touch.
