My Bachelor of Arts degree in German language with a minor in business was earned from Indiana University in Indianapolis in 1992. My Master of Arts degree in German literature was earned from Purdue University in West Lafayette in 1995. My Doctor of Philosophy degree in German literature was earned from Purdue University in 2001.

My areas of specialization include 20th Century German literature and business German. I have taught all levels of German at Ball State University since the fall semester 2004.

In 2013 I received the Judy Eaton Spirit Award from the Indiana Association of Students of German (IASG) for voluntary service to the organization as campus liaison for the annual IASG Staatskongress hosted at Ball State University.

The 2017 Teacher of the Year Award in High Education from the American Association of Teachers of German Indiana Chapter and the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association was presented to me in November.
