I earned a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition specializing in Language Program Direction from the University of Iowa in 2005. I also earned a MA in Spanish literature from the University of Notre Dame. I am beginning my second year at Ball State having begun my tenure in Muncie in 2020. Most recently, I coordinated the K-12 Foreign Language Teacher Licensure program at James Madison University. I have also served as the Director of Intermediate Spanish at Purdue University, where I trained, supervised, and mentored teaching faculty and graduate teaching assistants. My areas of academic interest include teaching introductory Spanish language courses, the theories of second language acquisition, foreign language assessment, and teacher training and supervision.
