The Miller College Staff Awards are given
annually to recognize staff members, either classified or professional, for
outstanding contributions to the Miller College of Business. Awards are given at
the Miller College fall annual meeting.
Any employee (faculty or staff) of the Miller College of Business can nominate a candidate for the Rising Star Award or Outstanding Staff Award by completing an online nomination form that includes specific information about the candidate on the selection criteria listed below.
Each recipient will receive a plaque and a monetary award.
Award Nominations
Rising Star Award

Nominees must be within their first three years of service in the college.
- They will have shown growth in their area of responsibility.
Additional Criteria
- Creates a positive and motivating work environment
- Goes above and beyond their normal responsibilities in terms of time given or degree of effort
- Serves as a positive role model, mentor, and/or leader for faculty, staff, and/or students
Nominate a Candidate for the Rising Star Award
Outstanding Staff Award

Nominees must have four years minimum as a staff member in the Miller College.
- They continue to develop skills and procedures to improve areas of work and responsibility.
Additional Criteria
- Creates a positive and motivating work environment
- Goes above and beyond their normal responsibilities in terms of time given or degree of effort
- Serves as a positive role model, mentor, and/or leader for faculty, staff, and/or students

Awards Chosen by the Dean
Dean’s Choice Award
Each year the Bryan Dean will recognize an exceptional staff member in the Miller College of Business and acknowledge them for their dedicated work.
Criteria
- Nominees must have two years minimum as a staff member at Miller College of Business
- Goes above and beyond their normal responsibilities in terms of time given or degree of effort
- Performs duties with superior integrity and dedication
- Serves as a positive role model for faculty, staff, and/or students
- Demonstrates excellence in an area selected by the Dean
- Is not the recipient of another award in the same year
Exceptional Staff Performance Award
This award given by the Bryan Dean, recognizes a staff member who receives high performance evaluation marks and demonstrates excellence in executing job responsibilities and duties.
Criteria

All staff who received an average rating of 4.0 or “Good” or higher on current year evaluation and have worked one year as a staff member in the Miller College are eligible
- Shows growth in areas of responsibility
- Creates a positive and motivating work environment
- Serves as a positive role model, leader, or mentor for faculty, staff, and/or students
