Geography can be counted as one of the oldest sciences. The term geography was first used by ancient Greek scholar Eratosthenes, who lived during the third century B.C.E.

Since Eratosthenes coined the term, geography has changed to include advancements in technology to help us understand the world in which we live. Geographers are now using geographic information system (GIS) technology to study the world. GIS is a computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing data that exist and events that happen on earth.

As one of our students, you will get the opportunity to apply geographic information to real-world problems and issues. This major is also an exciting area if you want to know more about the interrelationships between the individuals and their various places.
