Since 2001, I have taught a variety of Applied Linguistic courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. My main areas of specialization and research are discourse analysis, second language studies, and teacher training. In 2006, I began serving as the Director of the Intensive English Institute at Ball State. In this role, I have overseen two complete curriculum revisions to enable the program growth to more than four times its size in 2006. Currently, the IEI is involved in two major grant projects in Iraq where we are working to create and develop the professional capacity among teachers and update English-teaching curricula.
