Emily Jo Scalzo holds a BA in creative writing from Purdue University and an MFA in creative writing from California State University-Fresno. She is currently an assistant teaching professor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Her work has appeared in various magazines including Midwestern Gothic, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, Blue Collar Review, Ms. Fit Magazine, Third Wednesday, Melancholy Hyperbole, New Verse News, Leaves of Ink, and others. Her first chapbook, The Politics of Division, was published through Five Oaks Press in 2017.
