About John E. Jacobson
Dr. Jacobson recently returned to faculty after serving 8 years as dean of Teachers College at Ball State University. In his career of over 42 years in education, he has published numerous articles, monographs and book chapters, and delivered over 100 scholarly papers at state, national, and international conferences. He has chaired or served on various professional and governmental committees and boards at all levels, including the boards of the American Association of College for Teacher Education, Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities, and the Smithsonian Science Education Center board. He has received numerous awards for teaching and service and has secured over $36 million from state, federal, professional organization, and foundation sources. Prior to his career in higher education, he worked 15 years in the public schools- 6 years as teacher and 9 years as principal.
