Sheryl Stump is an Associate Dean in the College of Sciences and Humanities with responsibilities for:

  • Student Affairs (grade changes, late withdrawal approvals; student complaints, grade appeals, ethics issues, FERPA)
  • Facilities Liaison (Hazardous Materials and Safety; Renovations, Compliance)
  • Graduate School Liaison (Graduate Faculty Policy Document review; Graduate Assistantships; Graduate Merit Fellowships)
  • Admissions and Commencement Event organization
  • Teachers College Liaison

Dr. Stump previously served as Chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences (2008-2013) and as Interim Associate Dean of Teachers College (2017-2019), in addition to her service on the Graduate Education Committee, the Professional Education Committee, and as chair of the CSH Promotion and Tenure Committee.  She has served as President of the Hoosier Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and as Journal Editor for the Indiana Mathematics Teacher.  She has worked with Muncie Community Schools and Warsaw Community Schools, through partnership grants funded by the Indiana Department of Education.  Her scholarship includes a textbook, Algebra for Elementary and Middle School Teachers: An Inquiry Approach, and various articles in the Mathematics Teacher, Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, and Teaching Children Mathematics.
