Assistant Lecturer and Online Program Coordinator
Dr. Anna Stumpf is the Online Coordinator and Lecturer for the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) at Ball State University. CICS is a graduate program at the intersection of technology and business. She provides provide primary leadership for all aspects of the online program including recruiting, partnerships, curriculum, student success and retention, and career placement. Dr. Stumpf also teaches in the program full time.
During her decade of management experience with Wal-Mart, Dr. Stumpf worked in various areas of the country, relocating thirteen times to six different states, but also within the company. Through having roles in operations, training & development, perpetual inventory and human resources, Dr. Stumpf began to understand her passion and ability around teaching. Using that as a pivot point, Dr. Stumpf earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Indianapolis and began an eight-year high school teaching career. Eventually, the desire to teach more focused curriculum won out and Dr. Stumpf returned to earn her MBA from University of Indianapolis.
For nine years Dr. Stumpf taught undergraduate marketing, social media, sport marketing, sales, sponsorship and game day event planning as well as marketing strategy, personal brand development, digital media topics, business plan, and other graduate level courses.
Dr. Stumpf earned her Doctor of Business Administration from Northcentral University. Her dissertation was research was a qualitative inquiry of the engagement strategies used in higher education social media.
