The 64th Annual Journalism Day will bring more than 1,000 middle and high school journalists to campus Monday, March 25, 2019. The theme of the event is “Retro/Relevant: Journalism then, now and forever!” and will celebrate two milestones: the 50th anniversary of the Department of Journalism and the 50th anniversary of Tinker v. Renowned professor and author Kathleen Hall Jamieson will speak at the 10th Anniversary of the Letterman Lecture Series. Jamieson is the Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, the Walter and Leonore Director of the university’s Annenberg Public Policy Center, and Program Director of the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands.
