The School of Art offers the MFA in visual art with an emphasis in glass. Through concentrated study and experimentation, you will focus on your development as a professional artist.

What You Will Study

Total Credit Hours: 60

Your graduate coursework will be guided by your personal inquiry and augmented by close contact with your committee of faculty who you chose. Through your interactions with faculty and peers, you will explore ideas and techniques, interact with visiting artists and critics, and broaden your technical, aesthetic, and conceptual understanding of media within contemporary practice.

Graduate Assistantships in the School of Art

Work as a graduate assistant to help pay for your tuition while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience through working alongside our expert faculty. We offer both full-time (20 hours/week) and part-time (10 hours/week) assistantships. Find a position.

To be considered for Ball State's graduate program, you must have earned an undergraduate degree in animation, film, art, graphic design, illustration, or another visual art discipline. Admission is granted once per academic year. Using a cohort model of instruction, coursework begins each Fall semester.
