Holly Pritchett earned a BA with a double major of Ancient Greek and Ancient Civilizations from Indiana University, a MA from Indiana University, and a MA and Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania, specializing in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology. Pritchett’s research focuses on ancient Greek art and architecture and, in particular, images of children and their childhoods on ancient Athenian pottery – including the childhood of mortal children, the gods, and the childhood of satyrs. Her latest publication, “When Does a Satyr Become a Satyr” in de Gruyter’s Reconstructing Satyr Drama (2021), compares the childhoods of mortal and satyr children in order to understand how an adult satyr attains his characteristic and unique mannerisms.
