Andy Beane
Professor of Art
Andy Beane has a BFA in Art from Morehead State University in Kentucky and a MFA in computer animation from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Beane is an animation artist who has been teaching and working professionally since 2002. He currently oversees the animation major at Ball State University and previously taught animation at the Art Institute of Orange County, California.
His production experience includes a children's television show pilot with Xzault Studio, Korn's Coming Undone music video, and Barnyard from Paramount Pictures. He wrote the book 3D Animation Essentials, and authored a course for Lynda.com (Advanced Materials in Maya), and created curriculum for the Autodesk Animation Academy 2010.
Beane has worked on product visualization renderings for Zounds, as well as smaller film productions: lighting and rendering for Love.mel, producer for 3 large scale student productions One Night Only, Two Life, and Nerdvana. He was producer on the education film for Verallia on glass Recycling and producer for the pre-production of the children’s E-book Every Walrus Can Fly. Beane was most recently the Technical Director for the short film Claire & The Keys, which is making its way in film festivals now.
