The Minor in Financial Information provides broad exposure to business finances for non-business majors. Students who plan to begin a full-time or side business will get the information they need to understand and analyze the costing, payroll, tax, and other accounting aspects of their activity.
Key learning objectives of the Minor in Financial information include:
- Explore reporting of financial performance, including the contents of each financial statement, and their meanings.
- Develop an understanding of the US income tax system, including individuals and businesses.
- Learn methods of costing products and services and using those costs to make resource allocation and pricing decisions.
Minor Requirements
Not open to students in most Miller College of Business majors.
No more than six (6) credit hours may be used in completion of both the Minor in Financial Information and another minor program.
