Intensive English Institute Engagement
Significant focus is placed on working with students in the Intensive English Institute (IEI) to create a smooth transition from the program into their academic course work.
When you have been accepted into academic programs and are ready to register, you will meet with an international student advisor first to go over the timeline and procedure. Your advisor works closely with you to communicate with the necessary advising office, ensuring you are comfortable and confident about what you need to do next. Your advisor then follows up throughout your studies with updates.
Part of this entails working closely with the IEI to conduct outreach presentations and provide advance notice to students as they prepare for their academic program.
- Serve as a classroom guest speaker to share information about campus resources.
- Collaborate with the IEI and encourage student engagement and campus involvement.
- Serve on various committees to advocate for the international student population.
- Collaborate with the IEI to support students participating in the IEI Academic Bridge Program.
