The outdoor classroom environment at Hults Environmental Learning Center breaks up the routine of indoor classroom lectures and increases the diversity of environmental education while allowing you to learn about the natural world through hands-on experiences.

During a visit to the center, you may experience wildflowers of the prairie, hike on a trail through a mature hardwood forest, gain an understanding of soil conservation, identify animal tracks, study a wetland, and observe the interactions of plants and animals in natural areas.

Programs are led by graduate assistants from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management and student volunteers. You can choose from existing programs or one can be developed to fit your curriculum.
