Hikoyat Salimova is a research fellow for the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University.  She performs this role from her native Uzbekistan.  She specializes in geographic information systems (GIS)

As a master's student, Salimova worked at CBER as a research and GIS graduate assistant.  After graduation from a master's program, she continued her GIS work as a research associate and GIS specialist.  She holds a master of urban and regional planning degree (2010) from Ball State University.  Her bachelor's degree is in business and management education (2003) from the Bukhara Technological Institute of Food and Light Industry (Uzbekistan).

During her studies, Salimova held several positions at Ball State—research assistant for the Department of Elementary Education, graduate assistant for the Department of Urban Planning, and program assistant for the CapAsia Study Abroad Program.  She also has worked with the Peace Corps, Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) summer camp, the Bukhara English Community Center, and the Youth Center for Bukhara.
