Research Focus: My research focuses on literature and cultural studies of the medieval period (broadly) and specifically of Robin Hood studies, outlawry, Arthurian studies, Chaucer, chronicles and historical literature, medievalism, and neomedievalism.
Potential Student Project:
- A literary research paper that can be then turned into a formal presentation (poster or paper) at a local, national, or international
- Editing and analyzing a work of literature that has been ignored or unpublished, then presenting findings in a formal presentation (poster or paper) at a local, national, or international

- Ability to close read a work of literature
- Ability to use the library and online databases to perform research
- Ability to think critically and analytically
Required:
- Student must enjoy reading and discussing literature and literary criticism
Mentoring Plan: I will be there to help the student with literary analysis, research methods, and writing on a weekly basis. I can also help with professional elements, such as advice on writing conference proposals/abstracts, strategies for designing a poster presentation and crafting a formal written paper to be delivered at a conference. I expect my mentee to be able to think creatively, meet deadlines, and read carefully and thoroughly primary and secondary texts.
