Potential Student Project(s):
- What are the experiences of underrepresented college students (first generation, racial/ethnic minorities/student athletes)?
- How effective are strategies to improve maternal mental health?
- Synthesis of research studies on peer mentors in maternal mental health and substance use
Attributes/skills/background sought in undergraduate:
- Ability to locate peer-reviewed journal articles, summarize the findings, and credit relevant references
- Strong interest in improving maternal-child outcomes
- Willingness to learn research skills and use of excel, OneDrive, etc.
Mentoring Plan: The student researcher will work 5 hours on the project including a 1-on-1 interaction with for at least 1 hour/week. Meetings can be done via zoom or in-person. We will work on a project that advances the student's scholarly agenda with clear expectations and outcomes that are achievable within this time commitment.
