Department: Theatre and Dance
Research Focus: I will be spending the Fall semester doing pre-production research and creating choreography for the Nashville Repertory Theatre's production of Elf The Musical, opening in December 2022.
Potential Student Project(s): Students will participate in pre-production research and work in the dance studio, assisting with the planning of the choreographic components in the musical production of Elf the Musical, in anticipation of rehearsals beginning at the end of November 2022.
Attributes/skills/background sought in undergraduate:
- A deep curiosity in researching and analyzing the script and building the world of the musical
- An ability to learn complex choreography efficiently and effectively
- An ability to document and retain choreographic sequences and staging
Mentoring Plan: Students should anticipate approximately three hours of work per week with the mentor in studio on choreography creation, and an additional two hours of independent work on research and documentation.
