The latest version of Sophos Endpoint Protection antivirus software should be installed on every Ball State owned computer. Endpoint protection can block web and application exploits, malware, dangerous URLs, potentially unwanted apps, and malicious code.

  • New university-owned computers that are set-up by UTS will have Sophos antivirus installed.
  • Clients that do not have Sophos, but would like to install it on a university-owned device, can learn more about installing it by visiting the Technology HelpDesk Knowledge Base at.
  • For assistance installing Sophos on a university-owned device, clients may submit a Technology Helpdesk Web ticket at or call the Technology HelpDesk at 765-285-1517 for assistance.

Ball State University recommends personally owned Windows and Mac computers install the free version of Sophos Home. It is free commercial-grade security for the home.
