Cyber threats not only pose a danger to our national security, but also have the potential to harm our financial security and undermine the privacy of millions of Americans.
An important part of enhancing cyber security involves empowering more Americans to help themselves take proper precautions online and in their financial transactions; cyber security is a shared responsibility, and everyone can do their part to make smart, safe choices. President Barack Obama shares the concerns for Americans, and in effort to make them more visible he has proclaimed October, 2016, as National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The Office of Information Security Services supports the importance and need of cyber security awareness, so we are sponsoring a Cyber Security Awareness Day on October 20, 2016 in BL104, of the Ball State University library.
We welcome each and everyone of you to come by for the day, or for a session. Our featured guest speaker is Jennifer De Medeiros, from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. She will be speaking on Advancing Cyber Security for the State of Indiana.
