The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects certain types of students’ academic information from becoming public. This information is important to you whether you attend Ball State, your child does, or you work here.

Certain documents require a signature from an impartial public official. The registrar’s office offers notary services.
There are several guidelines we use to determine whether you qualify as an in-state or out-of-state student. This can greatly affect your tuition and fees.
Alumni Legacy Scholarships
Entering freshmen and current students who are the children or grandchildren of Ball State alumni, among other criteria, are eligible for $2,500 scholarships from the Ball State University Alumni Association.
Cardinal Legacy Scholarships
If you are a current or incoming out-of-state student, the Ball State University Alumni Association offers a $2,500 scholarship specifically for you. To be eligible, you must be the child or grandchild of a Ball State alumnus or alumna.
