Comparative Literature - Assistant Teaching Professor
Xiaoxi Zhang recently completed her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Her research interests include theories of postcolonialism and decolonization, translation studies, literary and cultural productions from the Global South, critical studies of race, gender, and sexuality, and performance studies. Her dissertation project examines the intersections between the modernization/standardization of the languages of Chinese, Portuguese and Swahili against the rise of other modern Western languages, and inquires into ways to write in English in a more decentered manner for a global audience.
