Ball State student Rebeca Mena was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2019.
Trustee Mena is studying chemistry, Spanish, and pre-dental preparation in the College of Sciences and Humanities. She is a Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) research scholar and peer mentor. She has helped fellow students as a chemistry teaching assistant and a Supplemental Instruction leader for a general chemistry class. She has worked part-time for the Department of Chemistry and is a member of the Pre-Health Professions Club. As a Venezuelan-American she is also bilingual and works as a medical interpreter for hospitals and clinics. After graduation, she plans to attend Indiana University School of Dentistry.
She will serve a two-year term through 2021.
