Bio

Nikki, who grew up in Muncie, began her Ball State career at The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities. For 11 years in the college counseling office, she assisted highly gifted juniors and seniors, who amazed her with their intellect and passion to better the world. She insists she learned more from them than she could ever have taught them.

Teachers College was her next stop, where she assisted the dean and managed his office for six years.

Nikki brings her skills to her current job, where she enjoys learning a different side of Ball State.

She and her husband have three children (two are proud Cardinal grads) and six grandchildren. When not working, she enjoys boating, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.

The couple give back to the community that helped educate and raise their children. Their annual golf outing has funded a scholarship for a Cowan Jr./Sr. High School senior since 2015, with a scholarship for a Wapahani High School senior added in 2020. They volunteer at Cowan Little League diamonds, where their kids played and made lifelong friends.

Extra: Nikki reminds herself every day to work hard; complain less; try, learn, and grow; don’t let people tell you it can’t be done; and make no excuses. She believes this philosophy has given her a happy and contended life.
