Craig Overholt
Director for Governmental Relations
Craig Overholt joined Ball State University in November 2024 as the Director for Governmental Relations. In this role, he represents the University to government officials and advises the Vice President for Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement on the development of legislative and policy strategies that align with the institution's goals and interests.
Prior to joining Ball State, Craig retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of active service. His last assignment was in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a Legislative Liaison for the Department of the Army and also as a Defense Fellow (personal staff) for a representative assigned to the House Armed Services Committee and House Committee on Education and Workforce. While on active duty, Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University and Masters of Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University.
Craig and his wife grew up in Albany and are excited to be able to raise their family back home in the Muncie community.
